Ba Na Hills Guide (with kids)

Ba Na Hills Guide (with Kids & Elderly)

Traveling to Ba Na Hills with two kids and an elderly parent is not easy.
Our route was Da Nang → Ba Na Hills → Hoi An, and we had to carry luggage along the way.

There were several critical decision points — honestly, every step felt like a challenge.

1. Grab Drop-off & Shuttle Transfer (with Luggage)

When you take a Grab to Ba Na Hills, you will be dropped off at the taxi drop-off area.

From here:

  • You must take a shuttle bus to the ticket office
  • The ride is short (about 2 minutes)
  • BUT there is no dedicated luggage storage space on the shuttle

👉 You must lift and carry your luggage yourself onto the bus
👉 This can be difficult with kids or elderly family members

2. Finding the Luggage Storage (Hidden Spot)

At the ticket office, there is no clear sign for luggage storage

👉 Here’s how to find it:

  • Face the ticket office
  • Walk all the way to the right side
  • Go past the ticket counters
  • Behind them, you’ll find a small building

✔ This is the luggage storage
✔ It has CCTV
✔ It was free when we used it

3. Choosing the Right Cable Car Station (Very Important)

There are two main cable car routes:

Toc Tien Station

  • About 15 minutes walk from ticket office
  • Has hotel check-in & luggage transfer service
  • Best option if you have luggage

Hoi An Station

  • About 10 minutes walk
  • Faster access to Golden Bridge

👉 Important Decision Tip

  • If you have luggage → Go to Toc Tien Station
  • If you want to visit Golden Bridge first →
👉 Leave luggage at storage and go to Hoi An Station

4. Hotel Check-in Time (Critical)

If you are staying at:

👉 Mercure Danang French Village Ba Na Hills

  • Check-in deadline is around 4:00 PM
  • (Likely 기준: Toc Tien route)

👉 We arrived around 2 PM and wanted to check in early
👉 So we went directly via Toc Tien Station first

5. Cable Car Waiting Time

In the morning:

  • The cable car line is extremely long

👉 With kids or elderly:

  • Waiting can be exhausting

👉 Real Recommendation

  • Arrive in the afternoon
  • Stay 1 night at Ba Na Hills

✔ Yes, it’s more expensive
✔ But much more comfortable for families

Conclusion

Ba Na Hills is beautiful, but logistics can be challenging — especially with kids and elderly family members.

👉 Plan your route carefully
👉 Decide your cable car station in advance
👉 Use luggage storage strategically

With the right plan, your trip will be much smoother.
